The "New Hampshire Challenge"

The Executive Board gathered during the first week of January to seek the Lord and to see what He might say (Hab 2:1). Simply put, we had the best time together! There was great joy, and great anticipation of a new forward thrust for the Body of Christ here in New Hampshire.
Born in our hearts on that day was what we are calling "The New Hampshire Challenge." It’s a grassroots strategy found in Zech 8:20-23 and outlined in Jonathan Edward's essay "A Humble Attempt..." which was the blueprint for the prayer movement that led up to the Great Awakening. After the successes of over 27 regional "Warfare through Worship" gatherings that attracted anywhere from 6 to 17 churches, we are excited to launch "The New Hampshire Challenge" on "Fifth Fridays" until revival breaks out.
In specific terms, here is "The New Hampshire Challenge":
"Until revival comes, let's consecrate every Fifth Friday for the purpose of united prayer for revival. Community prayer meetings should be organized on a county basis. Testimonies will be emailed to every church the following day with an invitation to join with this prayer effort for a few minutes during their Sunday morning service. Our faith for multiplied prayer meetings will be tracked on our websites until He comes."
Our County Coordinators are beginning to contact churches and ministries within their counties to encourage participation. Our kickoff "Fifth Friday" is Feb 29, 2008. We're encouraging all NH Christians to gather with other believers to pray for revival on that night! Let fervent prayer be offered in churches, homes and ministry headquarters for God to revive His Church, save the lost and heal our land (2 Chron 7:14).
Three words echoed in the hearts and minds of believers in Edwards’ day in preparing for these gatherings: visible, united and joyful. We are impressed to add a fourth: generous.
Therefore, on Feb. 29, 2008, may Christians in many venues throughout the State of NH gather “together” for the purpose of united prayer asking God to move in a fresh way in this "Granite State”. May our gatherings be visible, united, joyful, and generous. We think it wise, as did Edwards, not to have preaching at these gatherings, and we encourage offerings be taken to help the poor and disadvantaged.
Please let us know if you are organizing an event so we can count you in and record it on our website. Our mutual faith will be encouraged as we track our progress over the coming year. We are also busy trying to update our email list. Please help us by sending current addresses you have that may be shared. Stay tuned for what’s coming. Better yet - get involved!
